Sunhil Sippy was born in London in 1971. He went to Harrow School and received a BA in English Literature from Georgetown University, Washington D.C. in 1994. He moved to Bombay in 1995 to pursue a career in film-making. He joined Highlight Films as a director in 2000 where he has been directing commercials for brands as diverse as Asian Paints, BlueStar, Vaseline, Pepsi, Garnier, and Lux. In 2011 he published his first collection of black & white photographs in the Mumbai Diary (Pictor Publishing). His first exhibition,“Into The Crowd” was a part of the 2013 Focus Festival held in Bombay. He continues to shoot commercials, usually in studios, but it is perhaps ironically the streets of Bombay that keep him sane.
